Rafael Alberti wurde 1902 in einem kleinen Dorf in Andalusien geboren. 1917 zog die Familie nach Madrid. Zunächst fühlte sich Alberti mehr zur Malerei hingezogen, erst 1921 fand er auch zur Literatur, insbesondere zur Poesie. Seinen ersten Gedichtband, Mar y tierra, später in Marinero en tierra umgeändert (dt. Zu Lande und zu Wasser, 1984), veröffentlichte er 1923 und erhielt dafür 1925 den Nationalpreis für Literatur. In den Gedichten verbinden sich persönliche Erfahrungen mit den Einflüssen von Gil Vicente und der spanischen Romanzendichtung - Volkstümlich-Folkloristisches mit avantgardistischen Strömungen, wie dem Surrealismus. Nach dem Bürgerkrieg ging Alberti ins argentinische Exil. 1963 kam er wieder nach Europa, wo er sich in Rom niederließ. Er kehrte 1977 nach Spanien zurück und wurde Abgeordneter der Kommunistischen Partei im Spanischen Parlament. Albertis Werk umfaßt neben zahlreichen Gedichten und Theaterstücken auch die im Exil entstandenen Erinnerungen, La arboleda perdida (1942-1996, dt. Der verlorene Hain, 1997) und andere Schriften. Alberti gehört, neben Federico García Lorca, Jorge Guillén und anderen, zu den Vertretern der legendären Dichtergeneration von 1927 und war einer der großen spanischen Lyriker des 20. Jahrhunderts. Wie kaum ein anderer brachte er volkstümliche und mythische Inhalte und Formen mit den Neuerungen der Moderne in Einklang. Neben zahlreichen Ehrungen und Auszeichnungen erhielt Alberti 1981 den Nationalpreis für Theater und 1983 den Cervantes-Preis. Rafael Alberti starb 1999 in seinem Geburtsort.

A book delves into the psychology of victims of child abuse and bullying, in their childhood and in the development of their personality in the future. A host (un huésped) is also a plant or animal in whose body a parasite is housed. Julio Botella brings this idea to the plane of family psychology. In a family, what is not spoken about, not understood, born from some dark circumstance, creates a broken personality that unconsciously ends up staying in a new member. That is the invisible family heritage that these stories show. Huéspedes (Hosts) is a book of stories that subtly intersect. The characters go through them coiled in their personality, unaware that they are hosts and transmitters. The narrator is a conscious voice of this heritage and his writing becomes a kind of exorcism. He takes the reader deep into the characters through very powerful scenes where they face their fears. A father who transfers his frustration to an insecure daughter. Another father with fear of death who takes out his anger in the relationship with the family dog. A child who suffers harassment because he is not recognized by parents who expect something else from him, his own redemption. A grandmother who abducts a granddaughter with her childhood story to feel like an artist again. And all of them tacitly related. Huéspedes returns to Spanish literature a realism that seeks to unmask social errors that are repeated over time.

Juan el Bautista: historia y teología ("John the Baptist: History")

A pesar de la frecuencia con la que muchas personas escuchan mencionar a Juan Bautista en las liturgias y otras celebraciones, su figura permanece siendo un tanto desconocida o resulta enigmática. Sin embargo, su importancia en el Nuevo Testamento es incuestionable. Jesús le dedica el mayor halago que persona alguna haya recibido: "Les aseguro que, entre los nacidos de mujer, no ha aparecido uno mayor que Juan el Bautista…" (Mt 11,11); y el historiador Flavio Josefo emplea más espacio en el Bautista que en el propio Jesús. Pero, ¿quién fue verdaderamente Juan? ¿Fueron él y Jesús primos, como popularmente se dice, o solo parientes, como expresamente indica el evangelio de Lucas (1,36)? ¿Por qué se dejó bautizar Jesús por Juan con "un bautismo para el perdón de los pecados" (Mc 1,4) si él no tenía pecado? El presente estudio aborda estas y muchas otras interrogantes de carácter histórico pero también teológico sobre Juan Bautista, todavía hoy venerado en numerosos templos y liturgias alrededor del mundo como "el amigo del novio" (Jn 3,29). Despite the frequency with which many people listen to the mention of John the Baptist in liturgies and other celebrations, his figure remains largely unknown or proves enigmatic. Nevertheless, his importance in the New Testament is unquestionable. Jesus dedicates to him the highest praise anyone has ever been given: “Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist…” (Matthew 11:11); and the historian Flavius Josephus dedicates more space in the Baptist than in Jesus himself. But who really was John? Were he and Jesus cousins, as it is popularly said, or just relatives, as the Gospel of Luke 1:36) clearly states? Why did Jesus allow himself to be baptised by John with “a baptism for the forgiveness of sins” (Mark 1:4) if he was free from sin?

Mucho tiempo después de que el lector haya abandonado estas páginas, esos personajes continuarán en su memoria, buscando nuevas oportunidades de redención, y, quizá, encontrándolas. Un nuevo relato se añade a los siete que conformaban la primera edición de este volumen. Se trata de «El sabor de la nieve», originalmente publicado en el libro colectivo Exposición múltiple (Alter Ediciones, 2015), un texto que, además de ser una prodigiosa muestra de técnica narrativa, alcanza una gran hondura emotiva y se ubica entre las mejores piezas breves del autor. El nuevo conjunto amplía así los márgenes de su universo simbólico y ofrece nuevas posibilidades de diálogos cruzados. Cabe señalar que luego de obtener el Premio Nacional de Narrativa Édita del Ministerio de Educación y Cultura en 2015, varios de los relatos de este libro han formado parte de antologías en diversas lenguas.

Aunque ignoradas en las historias literarias y culturales, durante los siglos XVI y XVII existieron en España decenas de mujeres que buscaron un espacio en el territorio de las letras. Después de más de treinta años de estudios especializados durante los cuales se han exhumado innumerables documentos y se han desarrollado y probado metodologías específicas para entender a las escritoras como mujeres integradas en su tiempo, es posible llegar a producir un libro como este. Esta historia y guía de investigación representa un avance radical en el conocimiento de las escritoras del Siglo de Oro, porque recoge los resultados más relevantes y los utiliza para configurar un panorama en el que la literatura escrita por las mujeres se plantea, por fin, bajo unos perfiles específicos. Se prescinde de la historia de las individualidades para mostrar en qué medida las escritoras dialogaron con su entorno y modularon los temas, los géneros o la retórica para responder a sus necesidades expresivas.
