Launched in 2014, Magellan is a non-corporate publisher for children’s and YA literature based in Bamberg, Germany. Our aim is to produce a new, innovative, and irresistible style of book and games that is contentually, optically, and haptically set apart from the mainstream. We offer challenging texts and don’t shy away from serious topics. Our authors and illustrators tell stories grounded in reality with quirky humour, extraordinary illustrations, exceptional characters, and sometimes a dash of fantasy in order to distinguish our style from the norm. Furthermore, we are celebrating the printed book. Therefore, we focus on environmental friendliness and sustainability in our production process with special regard to the choice of paper, colours, adhesives, and varnishes. To keep our carbon footprint as small as possible, we mainly produce in Germany - only in exceptional cases in neighbouring European countries. To make all of this happen, a team of twenty busy bees is working with great pleasure and motivation. Why? WE BELIEVE THAT THE GOOD TRIUMPHS Where did the idea to make children’s educational tales that are different from the rest come from? One day, we decided to create a character who would be loved by thousands of children. We looked at our youngest and realised how much depends on us, adults. It dawned on us that if we bring up our children to become good and noble people, there is a big chance that they will do the same in the future. They will pass the love they got from us on to their children, who will then do the same, and so on…

Founded in 2010, the Parisian agency is a literary agency based in Paris. We represent a selected group of international writers of literary fiction such as multi-awarded Icelandic author Gudrun Eva Minervudottir and Hungarian novelist Arpad Kun, winner of the prestigious Aegon Award. We also represent the stunning illustrated books of the British and the Bodleian Library (UK) abroad. Last, we are now open to represent new lists in literary fiction, crime fiction and non fiction.
