Throughout the years, we have been publishing fictional and non-fictional narratives, children’s books, political essays as well as photography books, under the collections named: Us (Nosotros), Stone like You (Piedra como tú), Walter’s Library (Biblioteca de Walter) and About Narratives (De Narrativa). Our titles are issued in printed and digital versions, which can be found at digital stores such as Amazon and Bajalibros, among digital libraries and the main bookstores in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. In addition, some of our books were translated into Italian and Portuguese. In the last few years, we have applied new technologies to develop products for the publishing sector. We created the webBook Digital Educational Contents (Contenidos educativos digitales) and the appbook Professions’ Factory (Fábrica de oficios), among other projects that are currently underway in this area. All our production is self-managed and strongly independent. The books we make are carefully thought through. In every release, the aesthetic care put in the edition, its narrative, illustrations, and photographs, seek to create an attractive object, aimed to inspire the desire to be included in every library.

        Im Alten Land

        by Birgit Haustedt

        The world of El Cid

        Chronicles of the Spanish Reconquest

        by Simon Barton, Richard Fletcher

Makes available, for the first time in English translation, four of the principal narrative sources for the history of the Spanish kingdom of León-Castile during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. Three chronicles focus primarily upon the activities of the kings of León-Castile as leaders of the Reconquest of Spain from the forces of Islam, and especially upon Fernando I (1037-65), his son Alfonso VI (1065-1109) and the latter's grandson Alfonso VII (1126-57). The fourth chronicle is a biography of the hero Rodrigo Díaz, better remembered as El Cid, and is the main source of information about his extraordinary career as a mercenary soldier who fought for Christian and Muslim alike. Covers the fascinating interaction of the Muslim and Christian worlds, each at the height of their power. Each text is prefaced by its own introduction and accompanied by explanatory notes.

The Clockwork Testament or: Enderby's End

        By Anthony Burgess

        by Ákos Farkas, Anthony Burgess

First published in 1974, this novel is a semi-autobiographical reflection on the author's experience of having been the subject of Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of A Clockwork Orange in 1971. This is the end of Enderby, Anthony Burgess's finest comic creation. Dyspeptic and obese, this is the account of his last day as a visiting professor in New York, and his last day on Earth. The Irwell Edition of The Clockwork Testament will provide new information about the genesis of the novel, gleaned from a series of drafts and typescripts recently discovered in the archive of the International Anthony Burgess Foundation (IABF) in Manchester, as well as printing a deleted chapter for the first time in English.

        by Jean-Claude Bauer, Frédéric Brremaud

The result of the combined work of Frédéric BRÉMAUD and Jean-Claude BAUER – the latter having covered the 1987 trial for Antenne 2 – KLAUS BARBIE, THE RAT'S ROUTE retraces the life of one of the greatest war criminals of the 20th century. Drawing on historical sources and the participation of Jean-Olivier VIOUT, the Deputy General Prosecutor during this historic trial, as well as Serge KLARSFELD, a staunch advocate for the cause of Jewish deportees – who pens the foreword to this work – they deliver a necessary narrative, bearing witness to one of the most resonant trials in history.

Like decomposed magnets that first repel and then attract, the characters in this comedic tragedy of entanglements oscillate between love and disillusionment, between fantasy and reality, between dream and wakefulness. In the confusion of these parallel lives, they lose themselves in a hazy reality that becomes clear when everyone accepts that they have deceived and been deceived.

Die schönsten Geschichten aus dem Alten Testament

        by Matthias Reiner, Burkhard Neie
